The National Sculpture Factory is a 770 sq. metre, large-scale workshop facility for sculptors and mixed media artists.. Space rental includes technical assistance, use of equipment (with the exception of the kilns for which there is a separate charge), wireless internet access, PC, library and photocopying facilities.  The NSF has also recently opened a new fully equipped new media studio.  Recent equipment acquisitions include: top-loading electric kiln, enamelling kiln, potter's wheel, glaze spray-booth (ceramics), MIG and TIG welders, plasma cutter, sheet-folding machine (metalwork) and woodturning lathe and chopsaw (wood).

Rental is heavily subsidised and remains the same regardless of the number of spaces / bays needed for your project.

Media Studio

The National Sculpture Factory's self-contained media studio includes wireless internet access, a G5 Apple Mac, a monitor and DVD, scanner, printer, a lightbox and a new copy of Final Cut Studio 2 (useful for amongst other things, video editing and post-production, audio post-production and DVD authoring and burning). It can be booked in the same way as our other workshop facilities.

Conditions

Only fully paid up members of the National Sculpture Factory may hire the equipment or use facilities.

Bookings are made by contacting the office 021 4314353 or elma@nationalsculpturefacotry.com.

Users should demonstrate competence with equipment before hiring. Only limited assistance will be offered in the use of equipment.   See our workshops/technical training for upcoming opportunities in digital training.

A €10 or €20 refundable deposit is required for some items taken off the premises. If equipment is returned late the deposit will be forfeited.
The equipment user will be liable for the first €200 of loss or damage to equipment

There is a seven day limit on the hiring of some equipment.  Please note that sometimes some of the listed equipment may be reserved for NSF events. Please check in advance.
