What settings should I use on
my camera for best results?
JPEG or TIFF - What is the correct format?
How to submit digital imagery of my work in the correct size?
Artists submitting photographs or just recording their work often face what seems like a bewildering array of options regarding file formats, image sizes, dots per inch and compression levels and an endless set of digital camera settings. Mike Hannon explains the important differences between these variables, when to choose one over another, and how. The workshop will show participants the basic principles in digital camera settings, how to download photos from a camera and how to use simple editing software to best prepare images for common uses: on-line or postal submissions to institutions, galleries and residencies; print formats for catalogues and invites; and preparation for the web
This workshop will cover these
3 stages:
- Basics in digital camera
settings. From a point & shoot to a digital SLR
- Downloading images from a digital camera to computer
- Basics of image editing software
